Native Access Error: "Dependency installation process is taking longer than normal"

Full Disk Access

1. Open your Mac System Preferences. This can be opened from the Apple Logo on the macOS taskbar.
   
2. In System Preferences, go to Security and Privacy and click the Privacy tab.
3. Select Full Disk Access from the sidebar.
4. Click the lock symbol on the bottom left and enter your macOS password when prompted.
5. Scroll to find Native Access and NTKDaemon and tick their boxes to allow Full Disk Access.
   If these items don't appear in the list, click the plus (+) symbol and add them from:
   Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Access
   Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > NTK > NTKDaemon
   
    
6. Click the lock symbol again and close System Preferences. 
7. Start Native Access.

Additional Steps

If Native Access still does not open, follow these steps:

1. Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities and open the Terminal app.

2. Copy this command line:

   sudo /Library/Application\ Support/Native\ Instruments/NTK/NTKDaemon.app/Contents/MacOS/NTKDaemon

3. Paste the command text into Terminal and press enter.
4. Enter your macOS password when prompted.
   
5. Start Native Access.

Start the NTKDaemon Service manually

1. Press the Win + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window.
2. Type services.msc and click OK.
   
3. Right-click NTKDaemonService and select Start.
   
4. Close the window and start Native Access.

Download and Run the NTKDaemon Installer

1. Quit Native Access and all other Native Instruments software.
2. Download the NTKDaemon from here.
3. Right-click the downloaded file and choose Extract All.
4. Run the extracted file NTKDaemon 1.x.x Setup PC.exe.
5. Once the installation is complete, relaunch the Native Access software.

Troubleshooting the NTKDaemon Installer

In some cases, the NTKDaemon installation displays an error relating to system service permissions.

• Service 'NTKDaemonService' failed to start.

Please follow these steps to ensure that you have the correct privileges for installing system services on Windows.

Setting System Service Privileges on Windows

Important info for Windows 10 / 11 Home users: You need to unlock the 'Group Policy Editor' gpedit.msc to perform the steps below. Please download this batch-file here, right-click it and select Run as administrator. After the process is completed, please proceed.

1. Type gpedit.msc into your Windows Start menu and press enter when the app result appears.
   

2. In the Local Group Policy Editor navigate to:
   Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment
    

3. Scroll through the list on the right, to find Log on as a service and double-click it.
   

4. Click Add User or Group.
   
5. Add the user account to the list in order to give permission to log on as a service, and click OK.
   
6. Click OK to close the policy editor window.
7. Try installing the NTKDaemon again.

The NTKDaemon installation should now proceed and Native Access will launch.
