BATTERY 3 is compatible with several third-party file formats such as EXS24, APPLE LOOPS, ACID, GIGASTUDIO and RECYCLE. For a comprehensive list of all BATTERY 3 compatible file formats, please refer to the Reference Manual located within the BATTERY 3 application directory.
We will use an EXS24 instrument as an example to demonstrate how to load a third-party file within BATTERY 3.
- Open BATTERY 3 in standalone mode or as a plug-in within your sequencer.
- Click on the BROWSER tab.
The BROWSER displays your computer’s drives and files in a familiar “tree” structure. On the left-hand side of the BROWSER navigate to the directory containing your .exs file. In this example the folder is called Synth_Fat and contains the .exs file "Synth_Fat" as well as the wav files, which constitute the instrument (eg. "01_synth01_c1"). - To load the instrument and its respective samples, either drag-and-drop the "Synth_Fat" file to a free cell or double-click on it.
- Each EXS sample will load to a separate cell within BATTERY 3.
