What's new in Traktor Pro 4.5

Traktor 4.5.0 introduces plug-and-play integration for three Numark entry-level controllers, addresses critical crashes, and prepares the browser for the deprecation of the Beatsource streaming service.

Crash on Startup
Fixed a critical issue introduced in version 4.4.0 that caused the application to crash during the initialization sequence for certain user configurations.
Unresponsive Decks when Scratching
Fixed a bug where decks would become unresponsive and fail to render waveforms when performing rapid scratching maneuvers on short audio samples.
Crash During Analysis in Full-Screen Mode
Traktor no longer crashes while analyzing tracks or generating stems if the progress bar is drawn outside the window boundary.
Beatport Login not Restored
The Beatport login interface is now correctly restored when the internet connection is re-established during a session, so there’s no need for an application restart.

Removed

Beatsource Integration Components
The Beatsource Previews and Free Trial buttons have been removed. Automatic login on startup has also been disabled in preparation for the service deprecation. Manual login is still available in the Streaming Preferences, until the service is fully terminated.
macOS 12 Support
macOS 12 (Monterey) is no longer officially supported. The installer will not be blocked, but stable operation is no longer guaranteed.

Known issues

DDJ-FLX4 Mic Input must be manually enabled
The auto-configuration of the DDJ-FLX4 does not configure the microphone inputs.
If you want to use a microphone, the input channels must be manually configured in the Input Routing preferences. This only has to be done once in your first session and will be recalled thereafter.

What's new in Traktor Pro 4.4.2

Traktor 4.4.2 comes with improvements for audio device configuration on Windows, resolves caching problems observed for Beatport Previews on Windows, and enables S2 MK3 controller compatibility for Traktor Play.

4.4.2 improves manual and automatic audio device configuration, making device setup more reliable – especially on Windows.
S2 MK3 support for Traktor Play
S2 MK3 can now be used with Traktor Play – for example, if you purchased your controller second-hand without a Traktor Pro license.

Audio issues with Beatport Previews on Windows
Rapidly scrolling through Beatport Previews on Windows does not lead to audio dropouts.
Pattern Player controls issue
The knobs of the Pattern Player and of all Deck Effects no longer default to the wrong value on startup.
MX2 ASIO Driver Auto-Selection
After installing the MX2 ASIO drivers are now always automatically selected on first launch.
Audio device settings not saved (Windows)
The latest audio device settings, namely the sample rate and buffer size, are now ready to go on startup.
No audio device selected after a fresh installation (Windows)
When launching Traktor Pro after a new installation, Traktor now always automatically selects an available audio device.
DDJ-FLX2 and DDJ-FLX4 do not default to WASAPI Exclusive Mode
The DDJ-FLX2 and DDJ-FLX4 now correctly default to WASAPI Exclusive Mode.
WASAPI audio devices not associated with their controllers
Controller-specific settings and routings are now available when using WASAPI drivers for audio devices provided by supported controllers.
Audio device switch not triggering when driver is changed
Traktor will now properly switch to the selected audio device when switching between WASAPI (Shared), WASAPI (Exclusive), or ASIO drivers for an audio device of the same name.
WASAPI (Exclusive) and WASAPI (Shared) drivers sharing incompatible settings
Settings like sample rate and buffer size are now stored separately for WASAPI (Exclusive) and WASAPI (Shared) audio drivers. Traktor will no longer try to apply settings from one driver that are incompatible with the other.

Known issues

Custom Audio Routing Reset
Due to improved audio device handling in version 4.4.2, previous audio configurations are not backward compatible and will revert to default values upon updating.
Users with custom setups or 3rd-party MIDI controllers must manually reconfigure these settings in the Preferences menu after installation.

What's new in Traktor Pro 4.4.1

Traktor 4.4.1 is a small update that fixes a screen resolution issue, enables editing of metadata in the Traktor Play Browser, and includes a few more fixes.

UI cropped on screen resolutions below 1398px
The minimum width of the application window has been reduced again to support all screen resolutions of 1280px and higher without cropping.
Track Metadata editing in Traktor Play
All track metadata, such as star ratings and comments, can now be edited directly in the Browser or via the Edit dialog available from the track's context menu.
UI malfunction in the Parallel Layout Stem Panel
Clicking on the right side of the Stems Volume knob in Parallel Layout no longer risks stopping deck playback.

Removed

Non-functional Sample Dir path in Traktor Play
The Sample Dir path displayed in the Traktor Play Preferences has been removed as this feature set is not available in Traktor Play.
Non-functional Preference options for Mix and Loop Recorder
The preferences options for selecting the Loop Recorder and Mix Recorder have been removed, as the underlying features are not available in Traktor Play.

Known Issues

Pattern Player Pitch knob defaults to minimum pitch value
After a fresh installation the Pattern Player’s Pitch knob defaults to its minimum value (-12 semitones) position. This changes the pitch of all patterns to sound unnaturally low. Make sure to turn the Pitch knob up to 12’o’clock position, when using the Pattern Player. We aim to resolve the issue by early December.
Beatport Previews occasional Audio Issues on Windows
When skipping through Beatport Preview tracks on Windows by clicking in the Stripe with the mouse, the waveform may not load correctly and audio may be distorted. Reloading the track will usually fix the issue. We aim to resolve the issue by early December.
AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX4 and DDJ-FLX2 Audio Issues on Windows 11

What's new in Traktor Pro 4.1.1

Traktor Pro 4.1.1 is a small update to fix a few issues with the Z1 MK2 and Remix Decks.

Fixed

Z1 MK2 does is not configured automatically on Windows
The Z1 MK2 is now automatically selected and configured when first connected to a Windows computer.
Freeze when switching certain effects to Single Mode (Windows)
The application no longer freezes when selecting the Ramp Deck effect and then switching from Group to Single Mode on Windows computers.
Short samples on Remix decks don't play correctly
Samples of any size now play correctly in Remix Decks without any artefacts.
Samples captured into Remix Decks don't loop correctly
Loops captured from a Track Deck into a slot of a Remix Deck are now correctly quantized and loop seamlessly.
Remix Deck applies wrong BPM to captured loops
When capturing a loop from a track with changing BPM into a Remix Deck, the correct local BPM of the original loop is now applied.

Known issues

Z1 MK2 sometimes assigned to wrong driver on Windows
On connection, sometimes Traktor selects the wrong audio driver for the Z1. In this case, you must select the Z1 MK2 ASIO driver manually in the Audio Setup preferences.
Z1 MK2 firmware update required on first launch
To ensure flawless functionality, the firmware of the Z1 MK2 must be updated on first connection. Traktor will show a dialog pointing you to the device updater, when you first connect your Z1 MK2.
Stems waveforms initially not visible on D2 / S5 /S8
When loading stem files (associated or not) on the D2 / S5 / S8, the waveforms are not displayed (stripe is). With any screen interaction triggering a refresh, the waveforms are shown correctly.
Beatport / Beatsource lossless tracks show wrong compression rate
Tracks from Beatport / Beatsource that you already played in the past in AAC format will continue to show the 256 kbps compression rate, even after you changed your Streaming Preferences on Beatport / Beatsource.com to lossless (Flac). Stem separation features are now fully available in the Explorer node – as they already used to be in playlists.

What's new in Traktor Pro 4

Traktor Pro 4 is a major update introducing high quality stem separation, flexible Beatgrids and access to the Pattern Player and Ozone Maximizer for all users, with a fresh UI.

Added Feature

Built-in stem separation
Separates any of your local tracks into drums, bass, vocals and instrumental parts in high-quality. Performing with stems is supported by S2 MK3, S4 MK3, S3, X1 MK3, D2, S8 and S5. For older Traktor controllers and for third-party controllers Stem controls can be manually added to the mappings.
Stem mute buttons
The stem control panel in the stem deck has received a dedicated button for muting / unmuting each stem individually.
Flexible beatgrids
Define multiple tempo-zones per track for highly-accurate looping, beat jumps, beat effects, and mixing of tracks with changing tempo.
Separate grid markers and cue points
Grid markers are now completely separate entities to cue points. Hot cues can now be deleted without removing the underlying beat grid.
Grid reset button
The button formerly names "AUTO" in the Grid panel has been renamed to "⟳ Grid" (Reset Grid) to better represent it's action. An additional confirmation dialog for tracks with manually adjusted beat grids prevents their unwanted deletion.
Pattern Player
Bring the sequenced sounds of iconic drum machines and leading producers to your sets. Performance with Pattern Player is supported by all Traktor controllers and and can be mapped via MIDI to third party controllers. This feature was previously only available to subscribers of Traktor Pro Plus.
New Pattern Player Kits
Three new Pattern Player Kits by Rebekah, Len Faki, and Luke Slater have been added to the collection.
Ozone Maximiser
Maximizes your sound, preserving sharp peaks, avoiding distortions, pumping, and clipping. Ozone Maximiser helps blend playlists into one cohesive experience. This feature was previously only available to subscribers of Traktor Pro Plus.
Improved Ozone Maximizer settings
The Ozone Maximizer settings panel has been overworked for more intuitive usage.
UI reskin
A fresh, modern look for the entire user interface.
Auto-config for Pioneer DJM-A9
Plug-and-play support has been added for the Pioneer DJM-A9.
Auto-config for Reloop Flux DVS Interface
Plug-and-play support has been added for the Reloop Flux DVS interface.
What's New start-up dialog
On first start-up Traktor Pro 4 shows a What's New dialog with direct links to tutorial videos describing the new features.
Application menu logfile access
The Help tab of the Application menu now contains the entry "Show Log File" for direct access to the log files in case these are requested by customer service.

Browser flickering
Long, sorted playlists no longer flicker when loading tracks or editing metadata.
Crash resulting from high audio channels
There is no longer a crash when assigning audio channels above 12.
Missing path for Save as Webpage
Save as webpage now shows a warning message if the default path is not available on the user's computer.

Changes

Traktor Pro Plus
All features exclusive to Traktor Pro Plus have been moved to the main codebase. The optional Traktor Pro Plus subscription for Traktor Pro 3 will be discontinued at the end of the year.
Setup Wizard
The Setup Wizard has been removed from the Help tab of the Application menu and replaced by an easier to use entry to Reset Settings Default.
All Stems tree node
The "All Stems" tree node has been removed from the browser to prevent confusion of purchased legacy stems with the new generated stems. This folder can be restored by creating a Smart List searching for ".mp4" in the file name.
Offline Locker renamed to Offline Library
The naming of the former Beatport Offline Locker has been aligned to its new name: Offline Library.
