Thank you for using the community. Sorry, but although NI software might work in Linux via wine, it is not officially supported.

    I understand and respect that.

I am still hoping that someone can shed some light on this problem, for those of us who do want to use your software in linux. From the link below mac users get the same error I see when starting Native Access. "You cannot start Native Access from the mounted disk. Please drag and drop Native Access app to your applications folder and then start it from there". That thread doesn't say how the problem was resolved though, any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Michael! Thanks for your thread, I'm considering using NI VSTs under Linux too.

Do you have Komplete Ultimate? Have you experienced any improvement? If you have some advice on how to do this I would gladly receive it.

    Thanks :)

    Hi Jazz,

I have complete ultimate 11. All the VST's work under linux and even many of the standalone apps.

Only Native Access doesn't work so it isn't possible activate the software, download updates or download the individual components themselves (if you don't have them on the HD).

The NI Support are not interested in assisting with this issue. I've filed a bug report with the linux WINE development team, so hopefully there will be an update to WINE at some point which will allow Native Access to work. At the moment it is still not working for me, luckily i own ultimate 9 also, which I was able to activate with the old service center. So at least some of the software is working.

Thanks for your time Michael. The VSTs working is great news :)

I have the SSD of Komplete Ultimate 10, so I can use Service Center (I really don't know what's the difference between that and Native Access).

I will check the Wine site, in case I can help with something, as I truly want to use Linux as my OS for music production.

Any other info about this is welcomed (from you or other users).

    Cheers!

Hello, I just purchased Maschine Jam to use with Bitwig in Linux but Native Access gives me a migraine. Seems to install but it won't run in wine-hq or in virtual box. The controller didn't come with software, just a flyer instructing me to go download Native Access.

Hi Bree! Native Access does not have support under Linux. Have a look in here for some help:

    https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=16620&p=87933#p87933

I hope it's somewhat useful... If you can please comment whether you have made any progress.

BTW, NI should be considering support for Linux, there are tons of users of this OS.

    Let me add my voice.

Extrememly annoyed with NI now I can no longer register my Kontakt2 discs 'cos you've switched off the response server.

I bought Kontakt5 (basically forced to) in order to use that on my windows partition but I would really love to get it working on linux. It seems like a simple thing to fix? Just stop using this invasive registration software which only penalises folks like me who've bought your software.... twice!
