When launching a Native Instruments application you may receive the following error message: Your hardware has changed. Please use Service Center to re-activate.
This happens if you have changed the processor configuration (number of processors, hyper-threading settings) in the Windows System Configuration or in the BIOS. The NI application interprets this as a hardware change and prompts you to activate your product again. Affected users have two options to resolve this issue:
Restoring the Original Configuration in Windows
This method requires that you revert the changes made to your hardware profile either in the System Configuration menu or in the BIOS. If unsure how to proceed, please contact your system manufacturer.
Resetting the Product Activation in Service Center
- Make sure all applications are closed, then open Service Center and go to the Overview tab.
- Click on Show Details for the product whose application was showing the error message.
- In the field Activation Key, click on Edit, delete the key and then confirm with OK.
Note: Your operating system may require you to enter an admin password to perform this action.
- Go back to the Activate tab and click on Activate. Your product will now be correctly activated and you will be able to launch the application normally.
