GUITAR RIG 5 PRO is an effect rack designed to process the audio signal of a guitar. When using GUITAR RIG 5 PRO on a different audio signal (e.g. drums or a synth, etc.) you might experience an unexpected change of sound of the incoming audio signal, even if you have not loaded any preset or component yet. You may hear less 'bass' and the stereo field can sound narrower. This is caused by the default settings of GUITAR RIG 5 PRO which are designed to process a mid-range mono guitar signal. This type of signal has a narrower sound spectrum than other instruments or samples you might use. Nevertheless, we encourage you to use GUITAR RIG 5 PRO on all types of sounds since it is a very versatile and powerful effect rack. Use the following settings to obtain an unaltered signal in GUITAR RIG 5 PRO:
- Noise Gate: Off
- Limiter: Off
- Input: Left AND Right
- Input Gain: 0dB
- Output Gain: 0dB
- Hi-Quality Mode: Off
With these settings, the audio signal will not be affected until you load one or more effects in the Rack. You can store these settings for future use under: Options > Preferences > Save global Header Setup as Plugin default.
