Each time you update to the latest version of TRAKTOR PRO 2, you have the possibility to revert to any previously installed version. When installing a TRAKTOR PRO 2 update, the previous version is not replaced but moved to the subfolder 'Backup' located in TRAKTOR's installation directory. Read this article to learn more about the concept of side-by-side installation in TRAKTOR.
Note: If you run a full version of TRAKTOR on an already existing installation, the full version will overwrite the previous one instead of moving it to the Backup folder. You should therefore run a full installer only when installing TRAKTOR for the first time on your computer.
The default installation directory for TRAKTOR PRO 2 is:
- Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments > Traktor 2
- Win: C: > Program File > Native Instruments > Traktor 2
After updating TRAKTOR PRO 2 for the first time, a subfolder called 'Backup' is created in TRAKTOR's installation directory. The previously installed update will be moved to this directory.
Within this folder you can select the file with the version name you wish to revert to (for example: Traktor 2.1.2 (R12125).app). To launch a specific version either double-click on the file in this directory or create an Alias (Mac) / Shortcut (Windows) in any location on your computer. You can also create a new Dock icon on OS X by dragging the respective TRAKTOR version into the Dock. If you want to revert to a previous TRAKTOR version which has never been installed on your system, check the Updates page on our website. There you will find all versions of our products available for download. If you find an older version you want to revert to, just download the installer and install it on your computer. The current installation will be be moved to the Backup folder and replaced by the update version.
Note: TRAKTOR PRO 2's Track Collection format has been altered since version 2.5.0. Collections created or changed by 2.5.0 or higher are incompatible with all previous versions of TRAKTOR PRO 2. Likewise, importing a collection within versions higher than 2.5.0 may not retrieve the collection data entirely.
