If you have imported Stem files (.stem.mp4) in a TRAKTOR version earlier than 2.9.0, their entries in the Track Collection will be identified as regular audio tracks. Consequently, when you update TRAKTOR to version 2.9.0 or higher, the collection copied from the previous version will further identify these files as audio tracks, not Stem tracks. This will lead to the following behavior of Stem files in the TRAKTOR 2.9.0 (or higher) user interface:
- The entries for Stem files in the collection will not be labelled with the Stem icon in the leftmost column of the Playlist.
- When you load a Stem file from the Playlist to a Deck, the Deck Flavor won't switch automatically to Stem Deck. Switching the Deck Flavor manually will unload the track from the Deck so that it is only possible to play back the master file within a Track Deck.
To resolve this issue, please reimport the Stem files into your current Track Collection as explained below:
- Locate the entries for your Stem files in the Track Collection, right-click and choose Delete from Collection, then confirm Delete from collection by clicking Yes.
- Locate the Stem files (.stem.mp4) on your hard drive and import them back into your Track Collection either by drag-and-drop into the Track Collection folder or by any of the methods described in this video.
Note: Your Stem files may be contained within a folder named after the song, which also includes image files for TRAKTOR to render the Cover Art image. In this case you can import (drag-and-drop) the entire folder to the Track Collection.
Once the Stem files have been reimported, they will show up correctly in the Collection / Playlist, as identifed by the Stem icon. Consequently you will be able to play back the file within a Stem Deck and control each Stem individually.
