By default, BATTERY will play a sample until the end of its audio tail when pressing a key on your MIDI controller (a function commonly known as "One Shot"). The Volume Envelope module allows you to alter playback behavior so that, for example, sample playback stops when the respective MIDI note is released. To access the Volume Envelope parameters, click on the Power button and select an envelope mode. The two envelope symbols on the right side of the section header allow you to choose between two basic types of Volume envelope:
- AHD (Attack, Hold and Release)
- AHDSR.(Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain and Release)
Switch between envelope modes by clicking on either of the two Mode buttons AHDSR or AHD, represented by icons of the corresponding envelope curves. If you set the Release parameter to the very left ("0.00") the sample will only be audible as long as you hold down the key on your MIDI keyboard.
Switch between envelope modes by clicking on either of the two Mode buttons AHD or AHDSR. If you set the Release (R) parameter to the very left ("0.00") the sample will only be audible as long as you hold down the key on your MIDI keyboard.
Note: It is recommended to set the Release parameter slightly above 0.00 to avoid playback stopping abruptly. This can result in an audio click at the end of the playback. With a small Release value (e.g. 0.31ms) this audio click will disappear.
