Logic uses exclusively the Audio Unit (AU) plug-in format to load Native Instruments plug-ins. If your NI plug-in does not appear in Logic, you have to make sure the AU plug-in file is installed on your system. If your NI plug-in still does not show up in Logic, you have to manually reinitialize the missing plug-in.
Reinstalling the Missing Plug-in
- Go to the following folder on your hard drive:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components - Look for the NI plug-in file "*your product name*.component" (e.g. "Massive.component"). If the plug-in file is found in the Components folder, skip directly to the section below ('Manually Reinitializing the Missing Plug-in'). If the plug-in file is missing, proceed with the steps below.
- Start Native Access and go to Library > Installed.
- Scroll to the product that needs to be reinstalled and select Reinstall from the three dots menu.
Note: See this article to learn more about reinstalling NI products with Native Access.
Manually Reinitializing the Missing Plug-in
If your Native Instruments plug-in is still not showing up in Logic even when the corresponding ".component" file is installed, please follow the below steps:
- Make sure that Logic is closed.
- Locate the ".component" file (e.g. "Massive.component") corresponding to your missing NI plug-in in the plug-in folder:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components - Move the file to another location on your hard drive (e.g. the Desktop) and make sure it is not present in the Components folder anymore.
- Launch Logic and then close it again.
- Put the plug-in back into the Components folder.
- Restart Logic.
The plug-in should now be available in Logic.
