Note: This article describes a setup process for discontinued products. For the currently maintained product GUITAR RIG 5, use Native Access to install the product.
This guide explains how to set up GUITAR RIG MOBILE with your Mac OS or Windows computer.
- Insert the installation disk which is part of the GUITAR RIG MOBILE package in order to start the software and driver installation. Refer to the Quickstart Guide which you find in your GUITAR RIG MOBILE package for further information on this.
- After finishing the software and driver installation, restart the computer. Then start Service Center and carry out the activation.
- When you have successfully activated the software, connect the MOBILE I/O interface to a USB port on your computer.
- Start GUITAR RIG standalone and go to the Audio and MIDI settings.

- Select Guitar Rig Mobile IO as audio device:
- OS X: Choose CoreAudio as driver and Guitar Rig Mobile IO as device.
- Windows: Choose ASIO as driver and GuitarRig Mobile I/O as device.
- OS X: Choose CoreAudio as driver and Guitar Rig Mobile IO as device.
- Close the Audio and MIDI Settings by confirming your selection with OK.
- Connect your guitar or any other input source (instrument, sampler, keyboard etc.) to the input of MOBILE I/O. The input jack is the left one on the device and is labeled INPUT.
- Increase the input gain with the slider labeled INPUT LEVEL on left side of MOBILE I/O.
- Now you should see an input level in the GUITAR RIG software IN / OUT meters:
- The OUTPUT jack on MOBILE I/O is a balanced stereo output. You can either connect a headphone to it directly or alternatively connect a pair of active monitor speakers to it. To do so, you need an appropiate adapter; visit your local dealer to get the correct one. For further information, refer to the image of GUITAR RIG MOBILE I/O setup which you find on the package.
