When entering the serial number of your Native Instruments product in Service Center in order to activate it, you may encounter the following error message: The update / upgrade could not be activated because your User Account does not contain the appropriate base product. (2001)
There can be two reasons for this:
- You purchased a TRAKTOR hardware-and-software bundle (e.g. you purchased the TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 controller which includes serial numbers for both software and hardware products) and you are attempting to activate the software without having previously registered the corresponding hardware product. Please read this article to learn how to register your TRAKTOR hardware product.
Note: If your hardware serial number is missing or has been registered under a different user account, please contact our Registration Support team to obtain more information.
- You purchased a product as an upgrade (e.g. you purchased a MASCHINE 2 upgrade as a registered user of MASCHINE 1) but you are attempting to activate this product without having registered the base product under the same user account. If you cannot find the serial number of your base product in your User Account under PRODUCTS, SERIALS & DOWNLOADS or it has been registered under a different user account, please contact our Registration Support team to obtain more information.
