Follow these instructions to completely uninstall TRAKTOR PRO from your Mac computer.
Data Backup
The Root Directory contains all of your track collection information and settings in TRAKTOR PRO. If you wish to save this information you must make a backup copy of this folder. It can be found in the following location, unless you changed it to a custom location manually:
- TRAKTOR 3: Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor 3.x.x
- TRAKTOR 2: Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor 2.x.x
If you selected a custom location for the Root Directory, copy it from there. Find more information about TRAKTOR's Root Directory and its associated content in this article.
Deleting Files and Folders
In order to uninstall TRAKTOR remove the following files and folders (TRAKTOR 3 in the below example):
- Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments > Traktor 3
- Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 3.plist
- Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Traktor 3
- Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Library > Preferences > com.native-instruments.Traktor Pro 3.plist
Note: Since Mac OS 10.7 (Lion), the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu.
- Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Documents > Native Instruments > Traktor 3.x.x
In case you are not using any other NI controller (e.g. MASCHINE), delete the following files as well:
- Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments > Controller Editor
- Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Hardware > NIHardwareAgent
Note: The Controller Editor is a service that integrates your TRAKTOR controller with the TRAKTOR software. If you deleted Controller Editor you can find the installer for your operating system in this page. The Controller Editor will also install the NIHardwareAgent.
