When loading an Instrument or Effect from the MASCHINE 2 Browser on an OS X system, you may receive the following error message: "Could not load 1 or more Plug-ins!":
MASCHINE 2 uses exclusively the VST plug-in format to load Native Instruments plug-ins. OS X users thus must ensure that the VST versions of their Native Instruments plug-ins (eg. MASSIVE, FM8, KONTAKT etc.) are installed on their system. If you receive this error message, the NI VST plug-ins are missing from their installation directory. In this case, you must fetch the plug-ins' latest updates from the Updates page of the NI website and install (or reinstall) them. The VST version of the plug-ins will automatically be installed during the update installation process.
- Download the NI product's latest update installer from the Updates page of the NI website. Here, we will use BATTERY 4 as an example.
- Launch the installer and run the update. The VST version of your plug-in will be checked by default.
Next time you start MASCHINE 2, your computer's VST directory will be scanned allowing you to load instruments and effect presets associated with the VST version of your plug-in directly from the Browser.
