This article describes how to install the MASCHINE JAM Template for Bitwig Studio.
Important note: This setup requires at least Bitwig Studio 1.3.15 and Controller Editor 2.0.2. Controller Editor is available at the Drivers and Other Files page on our website.

1. Loading the Bitwig Studio Template in Controller Editor
- Connect the MASCHINE JAM Controller to your computer.
- Start the Controller Editor software from this location of your computer:
- macOS: Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments > Controller Editor
- Windows: C: > Program Files > Native Instruments > Controller Editor
- In Controller Editor, go to the Templates tab and select Bitwig Studio in the Factory Templates drop-down menu.
- The Bitwig Studio template is now added to the list of Controller Editor Templates. Click the Bitwig Studio template so that it's highlighted.
- Quit the Controller Editor software and continue to the next section below.
2. Adding MASCHINE JAM as a Control Surface in Bitwig Studio
- With the MASCHINE JAM hardware connected, launch Bitwig Studio and click the Bitwig Dashboard tab at the top-center of the project window.
- Bitwig automatically detects your MASCHINE JAM controller. In Settings > Controllers, click + Native Instruments Maschine Jam to expand the setup options.
- Select Maschine Jam - 1 Input & Maschine Jam - 1 Output from these drop-menus as seen below.
- If MASCHINE JAM does not appear in the list of Controllers in Bitwig, select Maschine JAM from + Add Controller > Hardware Vendor > Native Instruments and click Add.
