Please note that you need to install Traktor Pro 4.10 or higher to use the Z1 MK2.
1. Download, install and start Native Access
Native Access is an app that handles downloads, installation, and updates for Native Instruments software.
- Download Native Access from this page (if you haven't already).
- Start Native Access and log in with your NI username and password. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one within the app.
2. Enter Serial Number in Native Access
Click Add serial and enter your 25-digit serial number as shown on the card in your product box or on the bottom of your hardware.
3. Install Traktor Pro 4
After entering the serial number, go to the Library tab, locate the Traktor Pro 4 entry and click Install.
If you already have Traktor Pro 4 installed, update to the latest version on the Updates tab.
4. Launch Traktor Pro 4 and connect the Traktor Z1 MK2
After the installation, launch Traktor Pro 4 and go through the library initialization steps.
When the software is up and running, connect the Z1 to your computer using the included USB cable. You may have to use a USB-C adapter if your laptop does not have USB-A connectors.
5. Firmware update
If the Z1 MK2 firmware is not up to date, you get a notification from Traktor which will guide you to a simple tool that allows you to update the device's firmware with one click.
- Make sure that the Z1 MK2 is connected to the computer.
- Open the Z1 MK2 Firmware Updater by double-clicking the application icon / file.
- Click the RESCAN button.
- The Firmware Updater will indicate if your firmware is out of date. If so click the UPDATE button.
- The update will start. IMPORTANT: do not disconnect the Z1 MK2 from USB while the device is being updated. This should not take longer than 60 seconds.
