Favorites in the KOMPLETE KONTROL Browser allow you to quickly view and browse your most
frequently used Preset files. Any Preset file can be assigned to be a Favorite. You can find more information on "Working with Favorites" in chapter 11.10 of the KOMPLETE KONTROL manual.
Sometimes it is useful to create a backup of your Favorites, e.g. if you have to reinstall your operating system or want to use the same Favorites on a different computer. In these cases, you can find the Favorites file here:
- Mac: Mac HD > Users > Username > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Shared > 'favorites.db3'
Note: The User Library is a hidden folder on macOS. To access it, click Go in the Finder menu bar and press down the Alt key. The Library entry will now appear in the menu.
- Win: C:\ > Users > Username > AppData > Local > Native Instruments > Shared > 'favorites.db3'
Note: 'AppData' is a hidden folder by default. This article explains how to make it visible.
Creating a KOMPLETE KONTROL Favorites Backup
You can copy the file 'favorites.db3' and store it on an usb-stick or hard drive as a safety backup for future use. If you want to restore the Favorites, copy the file back to the original location shown above.
Using KOMPLETE KONTROL Favorites on a Different Computer
If you want to use your Favorites on a different computer, you can simply move the file to the same location on the new computer. Please note that you can only have one Favorites file in that folder. If you do not need the existing Favorites on the new computer, you can delete or overwrite the file. Otherwise you can also create a backup for future use.
Note: We strongly advise against making any changes to the contents of the Favorites file.
