Compatibility of NI Products with Apple Silicon Processors (M-Series)

  • To use the plug-in versions of the products that are compatible via Rosetta 2 only, it is necessary to start your DAW using Rosetta. Here you can learn how to do this.
  • The products that are natively compatible with Apple Silicon do not require Rosetta.

Native Instruments is conducting systematic tests with macOS 15 Sequoia in order to offer full compatibility of our software and hardware products as soon as possible.

Please note that even though the beta version of Sequoia has been available for some time, we ultimately need to ensure our product compatibility with the release version.

macOS 11 (Big Sur) / 12 (Monterey)

Important Notes

  • Only current generation class-compliant devices are supported in these macOS systems. These devices do not require a driver installation and work simply by connecting them to the computer.
  • If a device is not listed below, this means it is not supported by these macOS systems.
  • Devices labeled MK2 (or MK3) are later-generation models that run on class-compliant driver technology. The earlier MK1 versions are therefore not officially supported on macOS 11 (or higher).
  • Most of the devices listed below offer a Device Updater to update the firmware installed on your device. We strongly recommend to download and install the latest Device Updater from our Drivers & Other Files page in order to avoid possible functionality issues. Read more about updating the firmware of your device in this article.
  • From macOS 10.15 and higher, the operability of some NI legacy hardware is terminated. This includes MASCHINE MK1, MASCHINE MIKRO MK1, AUDIO 2 / 4 / 8 DJ, TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK1, and TRAKTOR S2 / S4 / X1 MK1.
    The workaround for macOS 10.12 - 10.14 (as described in this article) does not work on macOS 10.15 or higher. If you still want to use these legacy devices, you can only do so on a compatible OS.

  • Some NI devices offer both audio interface and controller functionality.
