The use of Bluetooth speakers/headphones with Native Instruments products is generally not supported or recommended.
The amount of latency involved with a Bluetooth audio connection is often too high. This delay is high enough to affect real-time performance or user interaction with hardware controllers and the software.
Examples
The high latency or delay associated with a Bluetooth audio connection will affect the following:
- Pre-listening and track-cueing in Traktor.
- Some Bluetooth systems can cause Traktor to freeze or crash.
- Note-input (e.g. key/pad playing and sequencing) with Komplete Kontrol or Maschine.
Recommendation
If using Bluetooth speakers/headphones equipped with an external 3.5mm stereo input connector, it is recommended to use this direct audio connection to avoid any kind of delay or latency.
Notes for Traktor Users
Important: Individual results may vary when using certain Bluetooth devices with Traktor. Some devices can cause audio playback issues or even crash the Traktor software.
If running Traktor for audio playback only (e.g. Playlists in Cruise Mode), Traktor users can still connect wirelessly with Bluetooth speakers/headphones.
Bluetooth speakers are practical only when real-time control of the Traktor software such as pre-listening, or track cueing with a Traktor controller is not required.
To enable the Bluetooth speaker or headphones, select the Bluetooth device in the Traktor Preferences > Audio Setup.
