I have a similar issue I think.  Massive X won't open for me in Komplete Kontrol or Ableton Live

    Hey Scott,

I already answered another post of yours.
Does the CPU of your Mac Pro support AVX?

Same here. After Massive X crashed the AuVal Tool I tried getting it to run by force loading it in Logic 10.4.5.

    It crashed Logic.

It is not visible in Komplete Control stand alone.

Is Massive X correctly validated in Logic's AU Manager?

Can you try validating the plug-in again?

To all. Jeremy at NI nailed the issue.

It's too bad that a music plugin is needing to have to have the power of a game.

This all having been said is there a fix/add on for the 2010 mid Mac Pro to be able to run the only plugin for my Mac Pro? Sad that this is the only plugin I can't run from all of the plugs I have from multiple companies?

    Hey Scot,

Unfortunately, that wouldn't change anything, it's not related to Thunderbolt. Please check that thread, the Massive X team also explains why :

Thank you WSU music. Funny you should mention both of those, I have them myself and a whole lot more. It was more than anything that I have the whole shootin' match from Komplete 12 Ultimate with many others. The thing that bugged me is that having so very many plugs that NI comes out with the only plug out there that requires a processor as if it were a darn game!

Well it was inevitable that my mid 2010 Cheese Grader was going to be outdated. After the dust settles it will be time to shell out at least 20k for the new Mac Pro. Having bought I can't remember how many Macs since the 80's it's time for an upgrade. As soon as the power of the new one in less than a year a whole lot of newer more powerful plugins will be on the horizon.

was this ever resolved? im getting the same error when trying to use Massive X:

"auvaltool quit unexpectedly while using the Massive X plug-in"

    abort() called
terminating with uncaught exception of type boost::filesystem::filesystem_error: boost::filesystem::create_directories: Permission denied: "User Content"

Attempting to open Massive X in Logic Pro X, Ableton 10 or Komplete Kontrol results in a crash.

    Can anyone help?
