Multiple Massive X'es in the same project (MacBook Pro) [en-us]
AnsweredHey,
I have a Macbook Air i5 with 8 GB RAM at the moment. I make synth-pop, so I'll often have multiple tracks with Massive X on every project. Even though I usually use 1024 on buffe size, I always have to freeze my tracks when I have more than 3-4 tracks with Massive at once. If I don't, I'll get a System Overload error: "The audio engine was unable to process all required data in time."
Because I have this issue, I want to upgrade to a better computer. I've got my eyes on a MacBook Pro. I need a mac because I use Logic and I want it to be portable. My questions are:
What parameter determines how much processing power a computer have? Will I be able to run multiple (read: 10-15) tracks with Massive X at once with a MacBook Pro? Do any of you have experience with multiple tracks of Massive X on a MacBook Pro?
Thanks!

Hello Mikael,
There isn't one specific thing to consider. Processor speed, and how much RAM is installed are the big factors. The general rule for music is buying the fastest computer, with the most amount of RAM, and the biggest solid-state drive that you can afford.
At the minimum, get at least 16 GB but 32 GB is better, and get at least a 512 GB solid-state drive. A larger solid-state drive would be better.
