When trying to record a mix with TRAKTOR's Mix Recorder, you may receive the following error message: Audio-recording could not be started!
There can a number of reasons for this:
- The Recordings folder does not exist anymore. This means that TRAKTOR (SCRATCH) PRO cannot find the path where the recordings should be stored. By default, the Recordings folder is located here: Macintosh HD > Users > Username > Music > Traktor > Recordings but the path can be customized. To resolve this, go to TRAKTOR Preferences > Mix Recorder, and verify that the folder set under Directory is existing and has no access restrictions. If the folder does not exist anymore, you can define another folder and set the path under Directory.
- TRAKTOR does not accept some particular signs for the path definitions, the most common of them being the ":" (colon) or "." sign. If you have introduced this punctuation sign or other special characters in the Prefix of the Mix Recorder Preferences, TRAKTOR (SCRATCH) PRO will not start recording. Change this in the Mix Recorder Preferences under File > Prefix.
- There is not enough available disk space in your hard drive so TRAKTOR is not able to save the recording data. In this case you need to free up disk space before recording.
