Symptom
On macOS 14 (Sonoma), aggregate audio devices are not displayed in Traktor "Audio Devices", depending on the device type. Likewise, the aggregate audio device generated by Pioneer’s "CDJ Aggregator Tool for Mac" is not displayed in Traktor either.
Cause
This bug is caused by Traktor not handling aggregate devices correctly as required by macOS Sonoma. We have found the root cause and are working on a fix with high priority.
Workaround
This workaround will work for any aggregated audio device. In our example, we use a pair of CDJs / XDJs. Please follow the steps until Traktor is fixed:
1. Do not use Pioneer's "CDJ Aggregator Tool for Mac"!
2. Close Traktor and all audio applications.
3. Open your macOS System Settings > Audio Midi Settings and create a new Aggregate Device which only includes the MacBook Pro Speakers. You can give it a name to differentiate it from other devices. We named it Sonoma Workaround:
4. Open Traktor - but do not select the aggregate audio device you have created yet!
5. Connect your CDJs.
6. Once connected, add them to the aggregated Sonoma Workaround device in the Audio MIDI settings. You can also rename the CDJ audio channels so they are easier to remember, by clicking on the Output channels section. We named them CDJ-3000 and XDJ-1000.
Important: do not remove the MacBook Pro Speakers from the aggregated Sonoma Workaround device.
7. Open Traktor Preferences > Audio Setup and select the aggregate audio device you created as Audio Device:
8. Open Output Routing and assign the available CDJ audio channels to the Outputs of Deck A and Deck B:
Now the Sonoma Workaround device can be selected and used in Traktor.
