Maschine+ interacts with Maschine software in two ways:
Controller Mode
In Controller Mode, Maschine+ is acting as a hardware controller for the Maschine software running on your computer.
Standalone Mode
In Standalone Mode, Maschine software is running on Maschine+ itself, and may be used without any connection to your computer.
Latest Compatibility Information
As of November 6th, 2024:
- Maschine 3 is only compatible with Maschine+ in Controller Mode
- Maschine 2 is compatible with Maschine+ in both Controller and Standalone Mode(s)
This means that Maschine+ standalone mode is currently unable to load any projects created in Maschine 3 software.
This incompatibility will be resolved, in tandem with a larger update with many bug fixes and Maschine+ specific improvements.
This update has been in beta for some time, and is expected to ship in late 2024 or early 2025. As a foundational and generational update to Maschine+, we feel it was incredibly important to ensure the robustness and stability of the firmware before deploying it, hence the wait.
This article will be updated once this ships.
