    Hello everyone,

    Sorry for the long time it took for us to fix this! We take your feedback and bug reporting very serious, and rest assured that our slow response and progress was also not satisfactory for us.

    These two products have been created together with our partner Audiobro, and over the past months we have been working closely with them to implement a fix for the mentioned issues.

    As many of you have already seen, we released a fix for Symphony Essentials String Ensemble, that resolves the “hanging notes” issues in most scenarios.

    For the bigger Symphony Series String Ensemble we are currently testing a fix. This product has a larger feature set, which means the fix carries more risk to break something in another scenario. This requires a lot more testing, and that’s why an update to this library takes longer.

    We will contact customers that have urgently inquired about a fix and send them a preview version proactively. Please reply here if you would like to be included in this beta test.

    I have the same problems, notes will keep playing, it's driving me crazy.

    From what I've been finding online, it has been an unresolved issue for quite some time, a few years in fact. I found out through multiple tests that having chords or instances where the same audio sample is triggered(same note is played on another midi track) will cause the problem to arise every time.

    Oh really, that's a shame they haven't fixed it, as it's a very obvious and very annoying problem!

    Any updates on this? just updated to Komplete 11 based on access to the string ensemble and its pretty much unusable.

    They sent me an automatic reply after 29 days of sending them the request. The automatic reply just says they are busy with demands...ugh.

    Damn it!! This is happening to me and I'm trying to score a professional theatre show. Just paid $600 to upgrade to Komplete 11 Ultimate - not cool. Can someone from NI please reply with a fix ASAP?!

    thanks for posting in this thread.

    Could you please send us a short video (taken with your mobile) displaying the issue, as that would be very useful in order to understand what's happening on your system? Also, what happens if you shorten the length of the notes or amount of Kontakt instances?

    From memory I don't think the amount of Kontakt instances affects it, it can be the only instance and the problem still occurs.

    Rob I've sent them an Ableton project with an example only running one instance of Kontakt and it still happens - random trill in the middle of the piece

    Still no reply from NI to address this issue - I've sent them an Ableton file with the issue and rated my support request bad and still have no update..

    I have just sent over a video of the issue as well.

    Out of interest, what DAW & version is everyone running?

    I am on Cubase 8.5 Pro on both mac & pc and the issue exists on both platforms.

    I have just tried in logic Pro X and can't seem to replicate the issue yet.

    Good work Kevin, I use Cubase 8.5 as well, on PC windows 10. I tried a demo version of  Ableton Live and the issues didn't come forth. I haven't had the chance to call them but they told me to do that, their support line is 323 467 2693, available Monday through Friday, from 12pm to 4pm PST.

    It's a short time window for those who have day jobs, I haven't been able to call yet. Maybe one of you guys will find the time.

    Seems that my name has changed from Kevin to Gumball lol

    I haven't tried Ableton but may give that a go if I get the time.

    I am based in the UK so timings are a little bit awkward and calls very expensive, I am assuming they are on the west coast.

    In fairness, Marcel has been chasing me for a couple of weeks but I wasn't able to get anything to him until yesterday. I have mentioned that we are having our own discussion in the forum in the hope that anything we post may help him to diagnose the issue.

    Its a strange one, for me the only articulations that are effected are:

    'Sustains/Sordino Sus/Tremolo/Trills/Harmonics'

    Also, its only affected on sequencer/DAW playback, if I play it live then there is no problem.

    This happens for every instrument within 'String Ensemble, 'Brass Ensemble' seems to play fine.

    Update : Installed Ableton Live 9 Trial onto my Win10 PC and the problem does not exist.

     

    So on my setup :

    Both machines run latest OS, both PC and Mac Cubase versions are latest available builds 8.5.30 

    PC Audio= Edirol FA-66, OSX = Internal Audio & Edirol FA-66 / Behringer Xenyx 1024USB

     

    Win10Pro(64bit) - Cubase Pro 8.5 = Issue

    OSX - Cubase Pro 8.5 = Issue

    Win10Pro(64Bit) - Abletone LIve 9 Trial = Ok

    OSX - Logic Pro X (10.3.1) = OK

    Hi guys, I just started trying out  SE String Ensemble from Komplete 11  in Cubase Pro 7 with the same issue directly at the second chord of a chord Progression. A high velocity tremolo note starts and does not stop. But I think I found a solution which at least solved my immediate problem.

    I am working with key switches and I prolongued the sustain KS note (F6 in my case) across the whole midi part instead of triggering it once as I'm used to in other instruments.

    Hi Very disappointed to see this issue has been going on for so long. I'm having this problem using Cubase Pro 8, Win 7. Same problem occurs in Reason 9.5.

    Can't believe NI have't fixed this yet. Just checked with the delightful native access and my stuff is all up to date. Come on guys, a bit of professionalism wouldn't go amiss here!

    I am having the same issue using Cubase 8.5 Pro on a Mac. I loaded String Ensemble through Komplete Kontrol. recorded in a midi pattern, when I playback the midi pattern then press stop, the note still plays.

    The only way to stop it is to go into String Ensemble and click mute, then when I unmute it the sound has stopped.

    Its very annoying...

    Its also doing it when i load Reaktor Blocks from within Komplete Kontrol, but I cannot stop it in this case...

    Hi there,

    thanks for posting & apologies for the late reply (we've been snowed in with issues lately).

    This is a known issue I'm afraid. Our developpers are looking into fixing this as soon as possible.

    In the meantime please follow this next workaround:

    situate the hanging note's "starting point", play it at this point & shorten its length by a maximum. Try also reducing the velocity to 0.

    3 months later and still no fix. The library is literally unusable right now which really sucks cause i like the strings a lot.

    Same issue here. Makes the strings instrument unusable. I have asked for refund. I haven't got the space on my hard drive for instrument libraries that dont work. I don't want to sit here hoping for 6 months. I just want my money back and I will buy East West.. I only ever have problems with NI Kontakt instruments. Never anything from Spectrasonics or Toontrack. Just NI.. recommend you avoid NI if possible

    Please try muting & then unmuting each channel in Kontakt as a workaround.

    Just had it happen to me again whilst doing some client work, managed to get a video of it this time. Happened when I was recording this time, but don't seem to be getting it in playback.

    Running Kontakt 5.6.8

    Logic 10.3.2

    Muting and unmuting doesn`t work for me. It`s a shame :-/
