NKS Connect support in Maschine

Maschine 3.6 adds support for compatible NKS Connect controllers, starting with AKAI MPK mini IV.

With NKS Connect, supported controllers can connect directly to Maschine and use NKS Mode for hardware-based browsing, preset loading, parameter control, and parameter page navigation.

This makes it possible to browse and control Maschine sounds from compatible partner hardware, bringing a deeper hands-on workflow to users entering Maschine through supported NKS Connect controllers.

How to use it

To use NKS Connect with Maschine, install NKS Connect and Hardware Connection Service through Native Access, then connect a compatible controller such as AKAI MPK mini IV.

Maschine performance workflows for compatible NKS Connect controllers

Maschine 3.6 also adds new performance workflows for compatible NKS Connect controllers.

With AKAI MPK mini IV, users can access Maschine Pad Mode and Keyboard Mode from the controller. Pad Mode lets the pads trigger sounds in the focused Maschine Group, while Keyboard Mode lets the pads play notes of the selected or pinned Sound.

Bank A/B sound access allows MPK mini IV users to switch between sounds 1-8 and 9-16 in the focused Group.

Maschine also supports pinned Sound workflows, allowing users to play one Sound from the MPK mini IV keyboard while using the pads to trigger other sounds in the same Group.

New Welcome Screen

Maschine 3.6 introduces a new Welcome Screen on startup.

The Welcome Screen gives new and returning users a clearer starting point by surfacing Maschine demo projects and tutorial video links directly inside the application.

This helps users get started faster, explore example projects, and access learning material from the first launch experience.

Redesigned internal module UIs

Maschine 3.6 continues the ongoing UI modernization work with redesigned interfaces for the following internal modules:

  • Audio
  • Poly Synth
  • Drum Synth

These redesigned modules move more of Maschine’s core functionality onto the newer design framework, improving consistency across the application while keeping the familiar Maschine workflow intact.

Mixer view redesign work

This update also includes continued Mixer view redesign work.

These changes are part of the broader effort to modernize key Maschine workflows and improve consistency, usability, and scalability across the application.

Installation instructions

Maschine 3.6 is installed via Native Access.

  1. Open Native Access.
  2. Go to Available Updates.
  3. Install the latest Maschine 3 update.
